If you’ve been around the Kent State University campus the past few years, you may know the name Michael Weber well. While he graduated in 2019 with a degree in advertising, Weber has been making a name for himself in the music world the past few years. In 2018, Weber won first place on MTV’s talent show “Amazingness,” all while managing a 4.0 GPA. He also performs with his band, The Michael Weber Show, which has toured nationally. The Master of Education degree in Special Education provides students with advanced understanding of contemporary research and practice issues in special education. Students in the program are typically interested in pursuing enhanced professional competence, career advancement, leadership roles, advocacy and systems change; or they may be wanting to prepare for doctoral-level study.
The Educational Specialist degree in Special Education provides an advanced degree in specialized areas of educational programming for children and youth with exceptionalities. The program meets the needs of post-master's degree students who wish to assume leadership roles in schools and agencies that provide special education and related services to children, youth, and adults who have disabilities.
The Ph.D. degree in School Psychology is committed to a scientist-practitioner model of training, which conceptualizes school psychologists as data-oriented problems solvers and transmitters of psychological knowledge and skill.
