Staying up late and braving the chilly overnight temperatures, Michael Gershe, senior advisor II in Kent State's College of Aeronautics and Engineering took photos of the "Blood Moon" lunar eclipse that occurred from about 1 a.m. - 3:30 a.m. on March 14. Kent State University’s School of Art invites all to attend the 2026 KBAI Visiting Artist Lecture Series, featuring public presentations by visiting artists working in ceramics, jewelry/metals/enameling, painting, print media and photography, and sculpture and expanded media. All lectures are free and open to the public and take place at 5 p.m. in the Center for the Visual Arts, Room 165.

The Transformative Kent Blossom Music Festival Experience Returns for its 58th Year
The Kent Blossom Music Festival returns for its 58th season from June 21 through July 26, bringing world-class performances and educational opportunities to Kent State University and Northeast Ohio. The 2026 season will feature faculty concerts, young artist performances and a season finale at Blossom Music Center, including the festival’s signature side-by-side concert with The Cleveland Orchestra.
Elliot DI Faculty Fellows Project Presentations
Join the Design Innovation Initiative on Friday, July 10 for an inspiring afternoon as the 2026 John and Fonda Elliot Design Innovation Faculty Fellows share the outcomes of their six-week summer fellowship experience. During this showcase, the DI Fellows will introduce the interdisciplinary projects they have been developing in the Design Innovation Hub, discuss the original ideas that inspired their work, reflect on how those ideas have evolved through collaboration and human-centered design, and present early prototypes, visualizations, research findings, and future plans.
