Due to inclement weather, Kent State Stark will close at noon on Friday, Jan. 12 and will remain closed through Saturday. Smart Start Saturday has been canceled and will not be rescheduled. Kent State University at Stark will be closed Saturday, Dec. 23, 2017, through Monday, Jan. 1, 2018, for the university's holiday break. During this time, all administrative offices and buildings will be closed. All Kent State Stark offices and buildings will resume normal business hours on Tuesday, Jan. 2, 2018. Guitar Weekend takes place Nov. 16-18.

Kent State University at Stark will present Guitar Weekend, a three-day festival for guitar enthusiasts, Nov. 16-18. Free and open to the public, the event is a celebration of all styles of guitar playing and features some of the most respected guitarists nationwide. Guitar Weekend, in its second year, blends a series of guitar workshops and concerts during the three-day span. John Downey took a day off work so he could guarantee attendance at the second annual Student Professional Development Conference.
