An evening with Wil Haygood
Nationally acclaimed author and journalist Wil Haygood will speak at Kent State on Thursday, Nov. 12, presenting The Vietnam War and the American Military: Patriotism, Service, and the American Experience. The evening will begin with a 4 p.m. book signing for "The War Within a War: The Black Struggle in Vietnam and at Home" at the University Bookstore, followed by the program at 6 p.m. in the Kiva Auditorium (doors open at 5:30 p.m.).

December 2026/January 2027 Closure Schedule
Kent State University's holiday closure schedule for 2026 will begin Wednesday, Dec. 23, 2026, at 10:30 p.m. and normal business operations will resume with the start of the first shift on Sunday, Jan 3, 2027. Employees who are not eligible for paid leave include student employees, classified temporary staff, temporary agency staff, short-term unclassified appointments, unclassified intermittent appointments, and employees in a lay-off status.
