Digital Projects Librarian Virginia Dressler shows the collection of sketchbooks and scrapbooks of Pauline Trigere, which are being digitized by University Libraries.

New York couturière designer Pauline Trigère, whose career spanned more than five decades, left behind a legacy of fashion innovation meticulously preserved in volumes of sketchbooks and press clippings.  Those volumes have had a home at Kent State University Libraries since 1993 and soon will be accessible to everyone.  University Libraries received a Humanities Collections and Reference Resources grant from the National Endowment for the Humanities for a project to digitize the entire Trigère collection, which fills more than 10 feet of shelving in the library basem...

Doctoral student Mandalynn Slupek is doing research on a supplement called NAC and its effect on addiction.

Doctoral student Mandalynn Slupek has seen what opioid addiction does to people. Her research at Kent State University into an easily obtained, over-the-counter supplement may curb the urge for opioids before addiction begins. Slupek won first place in Kent State’s Three Minute Thesis competition on Oct. 3 when she presented “Getting the NAC of Being Drug-Free,” research on how the supplement NAC or N-acetyl cysteine can be used in the fight against addiction. In celebration of the dedication of the Maj Ragain Poetry Park, which took place on the 14th of September, generations of Kent State’s writing community came together to celebrate the poet’s influence not only on the university’s poetic presence in the nation, but also on the people around him.
