Innovation in a Flash - Kent Hosts FIRST Tech Challenge Qualifier

Kent State University's College of Aeronautics and Engineering hosted the FIRST Tech Challenge Qualifier this past Saturday. FIRST Tech Challenge is a robotics, sport like competition targeted for students in grade 7-12. The competition was a qualifying event for the FIRST Tech Challenge 2025 Robotics Season "Into the Deep." Four finalists were chosen to appear at the Ohio Championships in March.

FIRST® Tech Challenge students work together with their mentors to design and build robots to compete in a dynamic and exciting challenge released every September.

Teams program classroom-scale robots to follow autonomous commands before student drivers take control in two-on-two matches.

On and off the field, students develop STEM skills, engage in community outreach, practice engineering innovation, and build confidence to help them succeed.

The state championship will be held Thursday, March 9 to Saturday, 11 March 2023 in Troy, OH.
