Onboarding

At Kent State, our goal is to recruit and retain the highest quality faculty and staff. But, it doesn’t end there. The first several months are a critical time as new faculty and staff learn the culture and begin to contribute. New Employee Orientation helps all new faculty and staff become accustomed to life at Kent State University.

The following items should be completed by new employees within the first 60 days of their hire date. Please note that the state-mandated fraud training must be completed within 30 days of their hire date.

State-Mandated Fraud Training

Per section 117.103 of the Ohio Revised Code, all public employees are required to complete training provided by the Auditor of State detailing Ohio’s fraud-reporting system and the means of reporting fraud, waste and abuse. This training is crucial in safeguarding our institution’s resources and reputation. It will equip you with the knowledge and tools to recognize and report any suspicious activities.

New employees must complete the training within 30 days of their start date. Thereafter, all Kent State employees must complete the training once every four years, in accordance with the Ohio Revised Code.
