Bachelor Degree and Undergraduate Certificate

Bachelor's Degree

Kent State University College of Public Health was established in 2009 to educate and train students to meet the current and projected shortage of public health professionals in Ohio and the nation.  It is one of only two colleges of public health in Ohio and the first to offer a Bachelor of Science in Public Health.  Our academic programs integrate theory and practice to equip graduates with the knowledge and skills to address the health challenges of the 21st century. The Bachelor of Science in Public Health degree is offered online with a choice of concentrations in:

  • Allied Health
  • Clinical Trials Research
  • Health Promotion and Education
  • Health Services Administration

Undergraduate Public Health Certificate

The Public Health certificate integrates key aspects of preventing disease, prolonging life and promoting health through the organized efforts and informed choices of society, organizations, communities and individual. The certificate program is aimed at students who are interested in gaining exposure to the field of public health, who do not intend to pursue a bachelor's degree or who already hold a bachelor's or associate degree and wish to broaden their knowledge of public health.   Certificate graduates have an understanding of emerging issues in public health, the social and behavioral aspects of preventing disease, environmental health concepts, the changing U.S. health care system, and the monitoring of diseases in the community through applied public health research.
