Kent State University's annual Veterans Day Commemoration ceremonies begin at 11 a.m., Nov. 9 on the Student Green.

Kent State ROTC students had a special early morning pick up on campus for their weekend exercises.

Several dozen Kent State students started their weekend early Friday morning by loading a CH-47 Chinook helicopter that landed briefly on the Kent Campus to take them to a field exercise with the Army ROTC.

The Kent State community paused from classes and work Nov. 10 to gather on the Student Green at Risman Plaza and show their respect as part of Veterans Day.

Kent State alumna 1st Lt. Ashley White-Stump is featured along with other American heroes in the new National Museum of the United States Army, which just recently opened in Virginia.
