In 1941, a writing exercise for high school journalists visiting Kent State was centered around a fictional kidnapping of the university's first president, John E. McGilvrey.  In a pre-internet version of a "home page takeover," the stories ran on the front page of the Kent Stater - without including information revealing that they were not real!

A sea of silk and satin, leather and lace floated down the runway as Kent State University’s Annual Fashion Show debuted to an enthusiastic crowd filling the Kent Student Center Ballroom Thursday night.

Cleveland-born celebrity chef Kenny Gilbert is preparing some of his signature classic dishes for students at Eastway Center.

The idea was simple: Physically connect people with the locations of the May 4, 1970, Kent State University shootings so they might better connect with each other.

Senior entrepreneurship major Meg Gidley has loved softball since she was three years old. It was in her blood. Then, injuries sidelined her playing career. So she started a coaching business. 

Honors College students graduating in spring, summer and fall 2024, along with distinguished faculty and alumni were honored at a special luncheon event in the Kent Student Center Ballroom.

While celebrating their 10th anniversary on campus with Her Week and a schedule of events, student organization Her Campus Kent State lit the University Library in pink from April 9-13. 

The temperature is rising, trees are blooming and the sun is shining. Spring makes for the perfect weather to get outside and try something new. That is one of the main goals of the Adventure Center, housed in Recreation and Wellness Services at Kent State University. 

A soon-to-be Kent State graduate has had a busy semester preparing for the School of Fashion's Annual Fashion Show and job hunting after graduation.
