Kent State University student Maya McDaniel began her collegiate journey at age 14. Now a 17-year-old senior, she is set to graduate with a degree in game design and a minor in computer science and also set to become one of the youngest students to receive a bachelor’s degree from the university.

The Kent Student Center is approaching a major milestone, its 50th anniversary, having opened in January 1973 as the largest student union east of the Mississippi River and the sixth largest in the nation.

Recipients are selected based on their exceptional professional and civic contributions and for their outstanding support of the university. The 2022 Alumni Award recipients include six alumni and one student.
