A Welcome from the Dean

At University College, we are proud to offer award‑winning programs and services that support all undergraduate and graduate students. We also serve as the academic home for the Exploratory Program, the single largest program for new first‑year students on the Kent campus.

Our mission is to empower students to explore, engage, and succeed from their first year through doctoral study. We pursue this mission through four guiding principles: students first, innovation, advocacy, and inclusive excellence. These principles shape how we meet students where they are, lead nationally in high‑impact practices and scholarship, champion student needs, and ensure every student has a transformative Kent State experience.
