OISE 1259419 IRES Responsive Fibers (Professor Antal Jakli)

Encapsulation of liquid crystals in electrospun polymer fibers was investigated in Suwang, South Korea and in the University of Luxembourg. The recoil process of viscoelastic free-standing liquid crystal filaments was studied experimentally and theoretically in Magdeburg and Goettingen, Germany. 

Altogether, 20 US students have participated in cutting edge research in Suwang, South Korea, Luxembourg, Magdeburg and Goettingen, Germany and Budapest, Hungary.

During Summer 2017 two Liquid Crystal Engineering Master students (Jenieve Cumberland and Haumed Rahmani) traveled and work in the Wigner Research Centre in Budapest, Hungary.
