Eileen Dorsey, a Kent State University School of Art Alumni, recently worked on a painting for NBC Studios. The broadcast and radio network commissioned a painting of the iconic Rockefeller Center to be given as holiday gifts to their executives.

Eileen Dorsey studied fine art at Kent State University. Professors, including Charles Basham, were an integral part of her development as an artist. She paints local landscapes as well as fantasy scenes using vibrant colors and her personal style. Dorsey won Cleveland Scene’s Best Artist in 2022, 2020, and 2018, and Cleveland Magazine’s Best Artist in 2021, 2020 and 2019. She earned awards in juried exhibitions including Akron Art Prize, Brecksville Center for the Arts, and National Arts Program. Her work has been exhibited at the Butler Institute of Art and the Riffe Gallery and is included the collections of ARTneo, University Hospitals, CARTA, and the Judson Foundation.

Dorsey works out of her studio located in Cleveland, Ohio. Every third Friday of the month between 5-9 pm, the 60+ creative spaces open their doors to the public for a free art walk. This event brings in crowds in the thousands and includes live music, food trucks, plenty of art and is free to the public.
