Chi Alpha Campus Ministry
Our roots
At Chi Alpha, our roots are established in the ways and the truths of God. We ground ourselves in who God is, and what He’s done, which we find in the The Bible.
Our trunk
At the core of Chi Alpha is community. We believe the Gospel is best experienced in community with others. You do not have to be a Christian to be a part of the Chi Alpha community. We are a diverse community, made up of people from different ethnicities, cultures, backgrounds, and life experiences, with the common goal of reflecting the beauty of God through being unified in diversity.
Our branches
As a community, we have a common goal of branching out to reach our campus, nation, and world the love and truth of Jesus.
Our leaves
At Chi Alpha we love to have fun! As a community we regularly offer a variety of events that are open for all to join.
Weekly service day/time:
At a normal service what you can expect to see is a group of people sitting in rows of seats and a setup at the front of the room. The setup includes microphones and some instruments. At the end of service we will typically do worship (though sometimes this will happen at the beginning of service). Worship includes a group of students up front singing and playing instruments and lasts around 15 to 20 minutes. We do this as a way to praise God and take a moment to thank him. We also see this in scripture, Psalms chapter 100 verse 2 says, "Worship the Lord with gladness, come before him with joyful songs." After worship happens, we will have someone go up for announcements, this can include weekend events and other things that are going on. After announcements we have our Pastor Nicole come up to say her message. A message typically lasts around 30 minutes and in it we look at different parts of the Bible and how we can apply it to our lives.
We would be so excited for you to join us at Smith 108 Thursday nights from 7pm to 8pm for services and after service events begin at 8pm!
Core group day/time:
Core groups are small groups that hold something similar to a bible study every week. They allow deeper relationships to grow and really encourage living life on life with each other. This means having a safe group and place that is there for you through the ups and downs of life. We have female groups, male groups, and a co-ed group. This allows you to choose the group that fits you and your life right now. You can see the date and times of our core groups at https://kentxa.com/coregroups/
