Women in Cybersecurity

We are the Women in Cybersecurity (WiCyS) Student Chapter at Kent State University. The goal of this group is to promote sharing of industry knowledge, networking, mentoring and participation and recruitment with an emphasis on gender equality in the field of cybersecurity. Please see more about WiCyS here.

We seek to build a community of growth and support for everybody who are interested in security-related challenges and learning more about the latest security advances.

We hold meetings on career prospects and networking with professionals as well as events in an effort for students to collaborate and share their passion for cybersecurity while also creating a network of support and community.

Please JOIN! National WiCyS membership has many perks. Contact our faculty advisor, Deniz Gurkan, for more information on the WiCyS Kent State University student chapter and the Cybersecurity Engineering program at the College of Aeronautics and Engineering.

You do not need to be a member of the national WiCyS organization to join our student chapter.

Women in Cybersecurity is the premier organization with national reach dedicated to bringing together women in cybersecurity for academia, research and industry to share knowledge, experiences, networking and mentoring.
