The Globalization, Identity and Space minor is intended to promote students' awareness of the differences an similarities that characterize the world's increasingly interconnected communities. The interdisciplinary program is a cooperative endeavor of the departments of Africana Studies, Anthropology and Geography.
Kent State University's Minor in Studies in Globalization, Identity, and Space offers students an interdisciplinary examination of the complex relationships between global processes, individual and collective identities, and the spaces we inhabit. The program explores key themes such as migration, transnationalism, cultural identity, and the social, political, and economic impacts of globalization. Students develop critical thinking skills and a deeper understanding of how global forces shape personal and communal experiences in different regions. This minor complements a wide range of majors, preparing graduates for careers in international relations, urban planning, social advocacy, and cultural studies, as well as for navigating the increasingly interconnected world.
