Kent, Ohio — Today, the College of the Arts at Kent State University announces the launch of Kent State Arts, a new private, subscription-based streaming service. It will house performance live streams and act as an archive of past performances for on-demand viewing. On Sept. 26, the Glauser School of Music will be the first to use this new service in a concert featuring the Wind Ensemble and Symphony Band.
Subscriptions start at $10 for a two-day all-access pass. A 30-day all-access pass is available for $20 and a full-year subscription is $100—a total cost of only $8.33 per month. Initially, only the Glauser School and Kent Blossom Music Festival will have concerts available on Kent State Arts. Planning is underway for the possible inclusion of materials from the Schools of Art, Fashion, and Theatre and Dance as well as the Kent State Museum.
“We’re thrilled to have this new service available to us in the School of Music moving forward,” said Kent McWilliams, director of the Glauser School. “It will open up new possibilities to enhance the viewer experience and help us better navigate the broadcast licensing process with publishers and composers, assuring they receive fair and timely compensation for the works we perform.”
