Kent State student and first-time voter

  Most of Kent State's student population are first-time voters in this election, with others being first-time voters in a presidential election.   Kent State Today visited the polls and saw a steady stream of students coming in to cast their votes at three polling locations near campus. We spoke with two first-time voters and one upperclass student who was casting their first vote for a presidential candidate. Lucille Schneider, the Flash Activities Board (FAB) president for the 2024–25 academic year, is grateful for the opportunities she received at Kent State University.Schneider is a Kent State senior pursuing a Bachelor of Fine Arts in visual communication design (VCD) and a minor in user experience design. When Kent State University alumnus Justin Horoiwa attended the university from 2005 to 2009, he left here empty-handed without earning his bachelor’s degree.
