Dean Angela Spalsbury invited faculty, staff, and students to nominate Kent State Geauga and Twinsburg Academic Center full-time and part-time faculty members as well as a full-time or part-time staff member to be selected for the Spring 2021 Excellence Awards. After successfully completing the week-long program, Whitman received a 32-inch Samsung Smart Hub/HDTV. He is a student on the East Liverpool Campus. Mid-American Conference Institutional Academic Achievement Award

For the first time in school history, Kent State University has received the Mid-American Conference (MAC) Institutional Academic Achievement Award. The Golden Flashes earned a department-wide grade-point average (GPA) of 3.447 for the 2020-21 academic year.
