After spending her younger years in a variety of volunteer roles with non-governmental organizations in her native Macedonia, Ivana Krsteska chose Kent State to study sustainable architecture and also serves as a Kent Student Ambassador. Ivana graduated from Niko Nestor High School in her hometown of Struga, Macedonia, in 2010, and grew up as the oldest child in her close-knit family. Kent State University students grabbed their paddles, boots and waders to help clean up the Cuyahoga River. The service trip was put together by the Kent State's Recreation and Wellness Services’ Adventure Center, which holds adventure trips, service trips and team-building programs. The Adventure Center hopes to hold at least one service trip each semester allowing students the chance to give back to the environment. Electric scooters have become increasingly popular on Kent State University’s Kent Campus since the introduction of SPIN scooters in March 2022. Approximately 300 eScooters and 150 eBikes are available to rent. Sept. 1 was National Food Bank Day, and the partnership between Meijer and Kent State University can help people support Kent State’s Flashes Fighting Hunger just by doing their weekly grocery shopping.  The Stow Meijer is partnering with Flashes Fighting Hunger to help fight the impact that rising food prices have on students and families in the Kent community.
