East Liverpool – Kent State University at East Liverpool invites the public to its Holocaust Remembrance Day on Thursday, April 16, at noon in the quiet study lounge of Purinton Hall. The keynote speaker is Steve Papalas, history professor, who will discuss the Dachau Concentration Camp, which he visited during the Band of Brothers tour.  Light refreshments will be served and a door-prize drawing will be held to give away a 10-piece DVD set of the HBO special “Band of Brothers” produced by Tom Hanks and Steven Spielberg. The College Credit Plus program has been established by the State of Ohio to replace PSEO and Dual Enrollment Options. The program is designed to allow college-ready students, grades 7-12 who qualify for college admission, the opportunity to earn high school and college credit. Kent State University Libraries has announced that Karen MacDonald, assistant professor, business and entrepreneurship outreach librarian, has been selected by the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation as a Knight News Challenge on Libraries prototype winner.
