Know Your Numbers: September Health Screenings

The following health screenings will be held in September from 7:30-10:30 a.m. on the dates and campuses below:

  • Wednesday, Sept. 7 (Kent Campus, Heer Hall)
  • Tuesday, Sept. 27 (Kent State Tuscarawas, Conference rooms A & B)
  • Wednesday, Sept. 28 (Kent State Stark Wellness Center)
  • Thursday, Sept. 29 (Kent State Geauga, Gallery and Commons)

Be Well Solutions, Kent State's wellness partner, will again offer the onsite health screenings to all full-time, benefits-eligible employees.

The Kent Campus screening will take place in 107 Heer Hall. Additional screening dates for October can be found on the wellness calendar and the Be Well portal. Feel free to make an appointment at the campus that fits your schedule.

You do not have to be covered by one of the university health plans in order to take advantage of this offer. In preparation for the health screening, participants must fast for 8-10 hours before their onsite screening. Please note that the blood draw is via a simple finger stick. Confidential results will be provided to the employee for the following:

  • Glucose
  • Total cholesterol, including HDL and LDL
  • Triglycerides
  • Blood pressure
  • Body mass index

Prizes Awarded

All employees who complete the personal health risk assessment and screening will receive five raffle tickets to enter into various gift offerings of their choice. Scheduling for your appointment and completing the online health risk assessment may all be completed at Be Well's secure website at portal.bewelldata.com.

Testing Your Faith Act (H.B. 353) was enacted in the Spring 2023 semester. In ordinance with this bill, Kent State University created a new administrative policy for religious and spiritual accommodations. This administrative policy allows students to report up to three days of unexcused absences to participate in religious holidays or community-held events in alignment with their spirituality.

At Kent State, we want to honor the celebration of our Native American and Indigenous culture by developing a calendar encompassing all the university events that are relevant to Native American Heritage Month. The Native American Heritage Month Planning Committee is welcoming university divisions, departments and student organizations to begin submitting their programming, activities and events to the University Events Calendar to be featured on the Native American Heritage Month Website.
