Learn how to locate, adopt and adapt Open Educational Resources and other alternatives to traditional textbooks at Kent State University Libraries’ 2022 Affordable Course Materials Summit. This event will take place on Friday, Sept. 23, 2022, from 9:30 am – 3:30 pm in the first-floor Harrick Garden Room. The event is free; however, registration is required.
The schedule includes guest speakers from Cleveland State University, Patricia (Patty) Stoddard Dare, Ph.D., (social work, gender studies) and Kelly Wrenhaven, Pd.D., (classical studies) who have authored their own open educational resources. A panel of 2022 OhioLINK OER Course Redesign Grant awardees will share their experiences and insights in locating OERs for their courses. A light breakfast, lunch and afternoon snacks will be provided.
Each attendee will be entered into a drawing for a chance to win one of five $50 gift certificates for local restaurants. Drawings will take place throughout the event. Winners must be present.
Information will be available on Kent State’s Open Educational Resources (OER) and Affordable Learning Materials (ALM) Incentive Program Grants. Full-time, tenure track and non-tenure track faculty members are eligible to apply for the grants which will be awarded in January 2023.
