Kent State Employee Benefits announces Open Enrollment 2023 dates
Save the date for the 2023 open enrollment period: Oct. 16 to Nov. 3, 2023. Outside of a qualifying life event, this period is the only time you may select and make changes to your 2024 coverage. Please note that all benefits-eligible employees are strongly encouraged to go through Open Enrollment as some benefits selections do not carry over without the employee's annual approval.
During Open Enrollment, Kent State employees can
- Enroll in, change or drop medical, dental or vision plans.
- Add or remove eligible dependents.
- Enroll or renew enrollment in a Health Savings Account.
- Enroll or continue enrollment in a Flexible Spending Account.
- Enroll or continue enrollment in the Opt-Out Incentive plan.
- Enroll in or make changes to your voluntary life insurance.
What to do in the meantime
To ensure a smooth Open Enrollment process, make sure your permanent mailing address, phone number and life insurance beneficiaries are up to date. We also strongly encourage all employees to take this opportunity to re-evaluate your current and future benefits needs. Please log in to the University’s secure FlashLine web portal and follow the instructions below to review your current selections:
- Log in to FlashLine with your Kent State credentials.
- Click "Employee" then click "Resources."
- In the "My Earnings and Benefit Elections" section, select "Benefits" to review your current selections.
Open Enrollment & Wellness Fairs
To aid in your decision-making, the Benefits team will hold Open Enrollment and Wellness fairs at each campus. The fair is an opportunity for employees to learn more about the benefits available to them. The Employee Benefits and Wellness teams, as well as representatives from the University’s various benefits providers, will be present to answer questions. Biometric screenings and flu shots will also be available on those days.
