Undergraduate Student Sociological Collective

Welcome to the Kent State Sociology Collective – we’re glad you’re here!

Who We Are: Rooted in the social science discipline, the Sociology Collective provides a space for students and sociology/criminology faculty to discuss current social problems, plan events that accord with our interests, speak on topics that are important to us (e.g., internships, grad school, etc.), and build community amongst members.

Thanks for your interest in KSU's Sociology Collective, we're looking forward to hearing from you!

Why Join USSC?

Why Join?

Along with providing an inclusive and community-building space for students and faculty, the Collective is committed to supporting achievements of academic and professional growth. We encourage and support members in attending professional conferences, provide opportunities for members to get involved in local volunteer events, and encourage social ideas and discussions in and around our community. We also invite Soc & Crim faculty to come and speak to us on topics we care about (such as internships and grad school).

USSC Meetings

The Collective meets once every two weeks during the semester in Merrill Hall with snacks. The organization is not exclusive to Sociology/Criminology majors but is open to all KSU students, so please don’t hesitate to reach out regardless of your field of study!
