Student Leader Advisory Board

The Division of Student Life has established a Student Leader Advisory Board as a way to enhance communication with student leaders and enrich the Division of Student Life's perspective on critical issues that affect the student experience. This conversation space for open student-administrator dialogue is provided for administrators to receive routine updates on matters affecting student life and student leaders to provide feedback on how Kent State University can continue strengthening the student experience. This group meets monthly during the fall and spring semesters.

Composition

This Board is made up of student leaders: presidents of various student organizations (or their designee), student mentors, fraternity and sorority leaders, students who’ve completed the Student Leadership Institute, and students holding any other leadership position or have a strong passion to improve student experience. Any interested student is welcome to apply. Staff may also nominate students who are engaged on campus and invested in improving the student experience and maximizing learning experiences for current and future students.

These applications and nominations are then reviewed by the Senior Vice President for Student Life. A diverse group of students are invited to join the board to serve one-year terms that follow the academic year.
