For the second consecutive year, the American College Personnel Association (ACPA) and Diverse: Issues in Higher Education magazine has chosen Kent State University’s Division of Student Affairs as one of the 16 Most Promising Places to Work in Student Affairs in 2022.
The Division of Student Affairs (DSA) offers a variety of student organizations and leadership opportunities. It creates an inclusive, co-curricular environment that engages students in an optimal learning experience. Students are the priority.
Lamar Hylton, Ph.D, senior vice president for Student Affairs, credits this recent success to the passion the division has for its students and creating a positive workplace.
“Our work developing our divisional strategic plan along with our laser focus on equitable and inclusive workplace practices were major contributors to our success,” Hylton said.
DSA works hard to provide students with the skills necessary to make a positive impact on the world. This would be impossible without their constant drive to instill the fundamental workplace principles that they are being recognized for.
“Student affairs work is enriching, challenging, and rewarding,” Hylton said. “We pride ourselves on centering diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging in our workforce practices. This recognition symbolizes this commitment, and we are grateful to ACPA and Diverse: Issues in Higher Education for honoring us.”
