Most college students start to worry about job interviews as their graduation day nears. But before Kent State University alumna Anne (Skoch) Johnson had even entered her senior year, her post-graduation employment plans were already mapped out.

Hannah Fender is entering the home stretch.

She crunched her bachelor’s degree studies into three years, packed them full of research and other activities and now she is staring down the final 10 weeks of her undergraduate college career.

Honors College alumna Maya Huffman, a native of Toledo, graduated a semester early from Kent State in December 2022, as a double major in psychology and political science with a minor in pre-law. Her story is not only one of academic achievement but also one of community engagement and a commitment to addressing important societal issues.

Gabrielle (Gabby) Volz is a second year Kent State University Honors College student from Mansfield, Ohio, and a graduate of Lexington High School. She is the second recipient of the Dr. Elizabeth Howard scholarship, the recently established fund for Honors College students in memory of Elizabeth Howard, Ph.D., who was a prominent member of the Honors College community, as well as the Department of English.
