She grew up in Kirtland, Ohio where she began training in all dance styles. During her time at Kent, Mia has performed in many concerts produced by the School of Theatre and Dance. She has been lucky enough to work with many guest teachers and choreographers to further her education including Amy Hall Garner, Hope Boykin, and Stefanie Batten Bland. Mia is one of the Vice Presidents of the Student Dance Education Organization at Kent State and a Student Artistic Director for the program’s 2022 Faculty Concert “Shifting Landscapes”. She has also been placed on the Dean’s List and was awarded the Cowperthwaite Scholarship for the academic year. Over the Summer, Mia trained at The Giordano School in Chicago, where she continued her training to reach her future goals and make connections with a lot of exceptional professionals in the industry. Mia is thankful for the opportunity to be in KDE and cannot wait to grow and learn as a member.
