Douglas Goldsmith
Biography
Doug Goldsmith has been a professional illustrator and fine artist since 1981. He is a graduate of the Cleveland Institute of Art where he received his BFA studying painting and illustration. He received his MFA from Carnegie Mellon University. He also studied at the Vermont Studio School, The Portland School of Art and the Illustrators Academy.
He has exhibited his paintings throughout the mid west and the east coast. As an illustrator some of his clients include the National Geographic Society, US Gypsum Corporation, Cleveland Magazine, East Ohio Gas Company, TRW, Duck Brand Duck Tape and Namco Bandai Games.
Doug has been an instructor since 1988. During his 25 years of teaching at Kent State University he has received numerous teaching awards including the Outstanding Teaching Award in 1996. He teaches color theory and a variety of illustration courses for the School of Visual Communication Design. He currently lives in Hudson Ohio with his wife Michelle and their Newfoundland dog “Hudson”.
