Students for a Democratic Society
Students for a Democratic Society (SDS) is a broad-based grass-roots student activism organization at Kent State University. We stand for education, justice, fair wages, LGBTQ+ equity, Palestinian liberation, and right to bodily autonomy. We fight against the military-industrial complex, economic and environmental injustice, misogyny, racism, fascism, homophobia, transphobia, ableism, anti-intellectualism, and more. We are an extension of the memory of May 4th, 1970; we remember and continue the legacy of student activism on campus.
