Dr. Xingqiu Lou
Biography
Dr. Xingqiu Lou is an assistant professor in the School of Fashion at Kent State University. She holds a B.S. in Fashion Design and Engineering from Beijing Institute of Fashion Technology, an M.S. in Fashion and Apparel Studies from University of Delaware and both an M.S. in Statistics and a Ph.D. in Textile Technology Management from North Carolina State University.
As an educator, Dr. Lou is committed to fostering a student-centered and collaborative learning environment. She leverages digital teaching tools and innovative instructional methods to incorporate real-world scenarios into her curriculum, enhance student engagement, and better prepare students for their future professional endeavors.
Dr. Lou’s research lies at the intersection of technology, consumer experience, and sustainability within the global textile and apparel industry. Her work examines the impact of cutting-edge technologies like AI, VR, and AR on consumer experiences and explores their potential to address significant industry challenges. She also investigates how innovative technologies, such as blockchain, can promote sustainable fashion practices and solve emerging sustainability issues. Dr. Lou applies quantitative and qualitative analytical methods in her research. She has published her research in peer-reviewed journals and actively participates in professional conferences at both international and national levels.
