Two Kent State University School of Fashion alumni have been recognized as top professionals under 35 for their accomplishments.
Anne Skoch, founder and CEO of the popular fashion accessories, brand Anne Cate, was recently announced as one of the honorees for the 2021 Northeast Ohio Top 25 Under 35 Movers & Shakers Awards. Every year, The Cleveland Professional 20/30 Club, the largest young professional group in Northeast Ohio, recognizes 25 young leaders under 35 years of age that have a record of excellence in their work, civic engagement and philanthropic efforts. The individuals are chosen based on their community engagement, volunteer and charity work, and their accomplishments as up-and-coming leaders in their community or place of business.
Skoch and the other award winners will be recognized during a virtual awards ceremony on March 25, 2021, at 6 p.m. Visit the Cleveland 20/30 website to view the entire list of honorees.
Electa Royal, also a Kent State School of Fashion alumna, was recently honored by her hometown of Ironton, Ohio and featured on the Ironton Tribune’s 35 Under 35 list.
Royal currently works as an assistant for Kohl’s. In February, she was honored by Kohl’s and was one of their featured designers during the company’s Black History Month celebration, in which Black and African American designers were recognized for enriching their community, culture and lives.
“My art is inspired by Black people and our rich culture,” said Royal. “The unity within our community is what keeps us moving forward and that is what I try to capture in my designs.”
