Biography

Professor Noël Palomo-Lovinski received her B.F.A .from Parsons School of Design, her M.A. from New York University in Visual Culture and an M.F.A. in Textiles from Kent State University. Noël teaches both undergraduate and graduate classes in sustainability and related topics, as well as design/illustration classes. Her research focuses on a designer’s influences on the supply and value chains, localized supply and value chains including product service systems, all of which directly relate to the future of the fashion industry. Noël is particularly interested in the development of an active and robust knowledge exchange between the fashion industry and academia. The fashion industry supplies the on-the-ground issues to solve, and academia can provide dedicated time, R&D and resources to address these needs. In this way pragmatic solutions can be found for the future of the industry.
