Microsoft Office Available to All Faculty, Staff, and Students at No Cost

As of Fall 2016, the Microsoft Office suite has been made available free of charge to all Kent State faculty and staff through an agreement arranged by Information Services with Microsoft. All active full- and part-time employees qualify for the free software on their personal devices* for as long as they are employed by the university.

The license is for the full Microsoft Office suite of Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, OneNote, Publisher, and Access. The software may be installed on up to five PCs, Macs or mobile devices including Android, iPad, and Windows tablets. Also included is 1TB of OneDrive storage with online editing of Office documents.

A similar agreement has been in effect for Kent State students since 2015. All active full- and part-time students who are registered for classes qualify for the free software. Students will have access as long as they are enrolled, and for up to two years after graduation or leaving the university.

IS encourages all faculty, staff, and students to take advantage of this offer. For more information and instructions, visit support.kent.edu/office.

*Microsoft Office is already installed on University-owned devices.
