Brockett Scholarship
Each year, the Department of Philosophy awards the Daniel L. Brockett Scholarship in Philosophy. The awards are merit-based and granted to a Kent State University junior or senior philosophy major, with preference given to students who have interests in philosophy of science and secular humanism.
Applications for the Brockett Scholarship in Philosophy are taken every spring, and the deadline for applications is March 1. Note that current sophomores who will be juniors in the fall may apply for the Scholarship.

Dickoff/James Scholarship
Each year, the Department of Philosophy awards the Bill Dickoff & Patricia James Scholarship in Philosophy. Endowed by a former chair and faculty member of the Department, the scholarship recognizes excellence in Philosophy.

Pendleton Book Award
Named for Associate Professor of Philosophy Emeritus Gene Pendleton, the Pendleton Book Award is given periodically to philosophy majors who have demonstrated intellectual curiosity and a broad love of learning.
