Recent Alum Lisa Hager (2016 PhD) Appointed Assistant Professor of Political Science at South Dakota State University

Lisa Hager (2016 PhD) is Assistant Professor of Political Science at South Dakota State University in the Department of History, Political Science, Philosophy, and Religion. Hager teaches American Government, Constitutional Law: Civil Rights and Liberties, Congress and the Presidency, Courts, and Politics of Inequality. She is also the advisor for the Legal Studies Minor and Pre-Law Society. During the last year of Hager’s work in the doctoral program she was awarded an American Political Science Association Congressional Fellowship. Hager worked for Representative Dan Lipinski (D-IL-3) as a legislative assistant covering education, agriculture, government operations, campaign finance reform, voting rights, and Native American policy. She also worked on the Science, Space, and Technology Committee and the STEM Education Caucus.
