Job Description
  • Starting wage: $28.67 for applicants with less than 2 years of full-time law enforcement experience
  • Starting wage: $31.83 for applicants with 2 years or more of full-time law enforcement experience
  • Current annual salary after 5 years: $78,977.60

Qualifications
  • 21 years or older
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid driver's license
  • Good driving record
  • No convictions for violent criminal offenses

Training Requirements

Police officers must complete a certified Ohio Peace Officer Basic Training Academy. KSU Police Services will provide this training to qualified candidates who do not have this certification upon hire. Newly hired police officers will then complete an immediate five-month Field Training Program or will complete the program at the conclusion of their academy attendance.

Emergency Services Dispatcher

Job Description
  • Starting wage: $21.65
  • Wage after 1 year: $22.30
  • Annual wage increases for accomplished training for additional 3 years

Training Requirements

Emergency Services Dispatchers must complete a three-month in-service training program along with certification classes for Public Safety Telecommunicator and Emergency Medical Dispatcher.  The certification class will be provided and paid for by the agency.
