Schedule Planning:
When planning your schedule, please be aware that - with the exception of Introduction to Conflict Management and Internship in Peace and Conflict Studies - most of our courses are only offered one semester each year. Keep this in mind when planning your schedule. Circumstances may cause some changes in our typical patterns, so be sure to check in with a PACS advisor to make sure the courses you need will be offered when you need them.
We try to align our course offerings with the GPS for the degree program (with courses in odd-numbered semesters being in the fall, and those in even-numbered semesters being in the spring).
Courses typically offered in Fall semester -
- PACS 11001 Introduction to Conflict Management
- PACS 31002 Gender, Power and Conflict
- PACS 31010 Conflict Theory
- PACS 32030 International Conflict Resolution
- PACS 31003 Nonviolence: Theory and Practice
- PACS 35092 Internship in Peace and Conflict Studies
Courses typically offered in Spring semester -
- PACS 11001 Introduction to Conflict Management
- PACS 35092 Internship in Peace and Conflict Studies
- PACS 41010 Reconciliation Versus Revenge: Transitional Justice
- PACS 48080 Mediation: Theory and Training
Courses typically offered in Summer -
- PACS 11001 Introduction to Conflict Management
- PACS 35092 Internship in Peace and Conflict Studies
When elective courses are scheduled can vary. Electives are usually not offered more than once a year, so if you see one on the current semester schedule, it probably will not be offered again for at least a year. We tend to offer more of our major electives in the Spring than in the Fall.
