Dr. Ashley Nickels selected as Journal Editor

Ashley E. Nickels, associate professor in the School of Peace and Conflict Studies, has been selected to be the next co-Editor-in-Chief of Administrative Theory & Praxis (ATP), alongside Dr. Nuriel Heckler from the University of Nebraska at Omaha.

ATP is the flagship journal of the Public Administration Theory Network and serves as leading journal for critical, normative, and interpretive scholarship focused on public administration theory, governance, and management. First published in 1988 as Dialogues, and since 1993 as Administrative Theory & Praxis, this peer-reviewed journal offers a forum for examining public administration orthodoxies, pushing the boundaries of administration theory and praxis, and exploring questions of ethics, democracy, and social justice.

In addition to is important role in public administration, ATP welcomes inter- and trans- disciplinary scholarship and, as such, is also one of the leading PA journals to publish peace studies scholarship. From discussions of how to apply positive peace to pubic administration to peacebuilding practice, the journal is a welcome space for peace and conflict studies scholars. In fact, our very own PhD candidate, Laine Seliga published a book review of The NGO Game: Post-Conflict Peacebuilding in the Balkans and Beyond.

Drs. Nickels and Heckler will move into their roles officially in January 2024.
