Dr. Neil Cooper, director of the School of Peace and Conflict Studies, and Dr. Amanda Johnson, Director of the Gerald H. Read Center for International and Intercultural Education, were guests on WKSU’s “The Sound of Ideas” on Thursday, July 27, where they discussed the recent global peace conference in Rwanda. The conference, organized and sponsored by Kent State University’s School of Peace and Conflict Studies and the Gerald H. Read Center for International and Intercultural Education, the University of Rwanda’s Centre for Conflict Management, and Aegis Trust, focused on promoting peace through education.
School of Peace and Conflict Studies faculty and students, as well as other members of the Kent State community and local educators attended the conference in Kigali Rwanda, along with delegates from 14 countries and nine U.S. states. The event ran from July 11 through July 13.
