A team of university leaders and communicators from Kent State is currently visiting the Pontifical Catholic University of Paraná in Brazil.

Kent State University senior Carlton “CeeJay” Scott Jr. can barely contain his excitement when he talks about his upcoming study-abroad experience at the American University in Cairo, Egypt. The food, the people, the ancient pyramids – Scott’s goals are to create a short film while he is away, learn to speak Arabic and, hopefully, to expand his cooking repertoire with new tastes and flavors of the Middle Eastern culture. 

First-year students Ronica Marandi and Goli Kavoosi organized the rally in partnership with Kent State’s Women's Center and the School of Peace and Conflict Studies to raise awareness about the atrocities that are happening in Iran. 

The American Academy (AA) program offers the Kent State experience to students in Brazil.

The entry of Team Rwanda and Team Nigeria into the annual cooking contest reflects Kent State’s growing relations in sub-Saharan Africa, resulting in new groups of international students on campus. The Rwandan students are part of a group of 12 undergraduates sponsored by the Rwandan government who arrived at Kent State for the fall semester to pursue degrees.

Two teams from sub-Saharan Africa made their debut on Thursday at Kent State University’s annual International Cook-off sponsored by the Office of Global Education.
