The School of Art Collection and Galleries at Kent State University are pleased to announce a new exhibit, Detumescence, Bedel Tiscareño. This exhibit will be on display, April 7–May 13, 2023, at the KSU Downtown Gallery, 141 East Main Street, Kent Ohio, there will be a reception on Friday, April 7 from 5-7 p.m.
Eight Kent State University School of Art faculty and alumni have been awarded the Ohio Arts Council’s Individual Excellence Awards for 2023.
The Biennial Faculty Show runs from Jan. 17 through Feb. 10.
School of Art adjunct professor and painting M.F.A. alumni, Sarah Esposito, will be opening her first solo show, “Into the Syncline”, at Kink Contemporary in Cleveland opening on February 18, 2023. The show will include elements of painting and collage landscapes that mirror the artist’s relationship with the natural world. “Into the Syncline” is inspired by the folds in the earth’s crust, like those that form mountains and islands. Sarah Esposito has examined these formations recently in Colorado and other regional parks.
