Sarah Esposito, School of Art Adjunct Faculty and Alumni, Will Be Opening Her First Solo Show At Kink Contemporary

School of Art adjunct professor and painting M.F.A. alumni, Sarah Esposito, will be opening her first solo show, “Into the Syncline”, at Kink Contemporary in Cleveland opening on February 18, 2023. The show will include elements of painting and collage landscapes that mirror the artist’s relationship with the natural world. “Into the Syncline” is inspired by the folds in the earth’s crust, like those that form mountains and islands. Sarah Esposito has examined these formations recently in Colorado and other regional parks.

'Land of Oz' Has Kent State Flavor

Sophia Edmunds came up with a simple fashion hack and posted about the idea on TikTok last May with the idea that it might help a few friends. The video quickly went viral, amassing more than 6 million views and numerous comments from women suggesting she pitch the idea to Shark Tank.

Redshirt Senior Sincere Carry, of Farrell, PA., was named the 2022 Male Collegiate Athlete of the Year at the 23rd Greater Cleveland Sports Awards.  Carry leads the Golden Flashes with 17 points and 4.9 assists per game, and he has recorded double-digits in 19 games this season, including a season-high 31 points.

In the southwest corner of South Dakota, on the Nebraska border and at the southern end of the Badlands, sits the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation. It is home to the Ogalala Lakota Nation.

Physics professor receives a DOE topical collaboration grant to study heavy-quark physics

Dr. Michael Strickland's group will participate in a new Topical Theory Collaboration funded by DOE’s Office of Nuclear Physics to explore the behavior of heavy flavor particles. The collaboration will receive $2.5 Million from the DOE Office of Science, Office of Nuclear Physics, over five years. That funding will provide partial support for six graduate students and three postdoctoral fellows at 10 institutions, as well as a senior staff position at one of the national laboratories. It will also establish a bridge junior faculty position at Kent State University.
