Students pursuing research and creative activity are encouraged to learn about the variety of internal Kent State funding opportunities and external funding opportunities from non-Kent State organizations.
- ArtsLAUNCH! Grant Competition
The College of the Arts sponsors the ArtsLAUNCH! Grant Competition for undergraduate and graduate students at Kent State University pursuing the creation of new art or the creation of a new venture that will benefit the arts economy.
- Summer Undergraduate Research Experience (SURE)
The SURE program at Kent State funds promising undergraduate researchers for eight weeks over the summer to engage in faculty-supervised research.
- Undergraduate Student Travel Support
Kent State undergraduate students who are presenting the results of their research or creative work at a regional, national or international conference or Kent State undergraduates who wish to attend a conference because of an interest in conducting research in the future may request financial support from the Office of Student Research.

- Graduate Student Senate Awards
Graduate Student Senate offers awards to assist graduate with travel, both domestically and internationally, and conducting research.
- Senior Honors Thesis Fellowships
The Honors College provides several opportunities for financial support for students who complete a Senior Honors Thesis/Project.
- Undergraduate Research Scholars Program
Undergraduate students can work with a faculty mentor to apply for up to $500 of funding through the University Research Council.
The Council on Undergraduate Research
The Council on Undergraduate Research (CUR), founded in 1978, is an organization of individual, institutional, and affiliate members from around the world. CUR believes that students engaged in undergraduate research succeed in their studies and professional advancement.

The National Science Foundation provides Research Experiences for Undergraduates and corresponding funding at a number of sites in the United States and internationally.
