Biography

Dr. Abdelhakim Al Turk is a dedicated and accomplished academic and industry professional specializing in additive manufacturing and industrial engineering. Dr. Turk has made significant strides in his academic and professional career, earning a Bachelor in Civil Engineering from Rafik Hariri University in Beirut, Lebanon. Following completion of his Master’s in Industrial Engineering at Wichita State University, he was recognized as the Outstanding Shocker Grad of Fall 2020. While earning his Doctor of Philosophy in Industrial Engineering from Wichita State, Dr. Turk not only served as the  Student Chapter President of the American Society of Quality but also had his National Waiver Interest EB-2 application approved as an Additive Manufacturing Engineer.

With certifications in SME Additive Manufacturing, Lean Bronze and WSU Foundation of Six Sigma and Quality Improvement, along with a strong foundation in statistical analysis and process improvement, Dr. Turk is well-equipped to tackle complex engineering challenges.

Dr. Turk's teaching experience extends back to his time as an instructor at Wichita State University, where he specialized in Additive Manufacturing, 3D printing, and quality engineering, ensuring students were well-prepared for industry certifications. His commitment to education is evident through his role as a mentor in programs designed to engage underrepresented communities in engineering.

A published author, Dr. Turk has contributed valuable research to the field, addressing additive manufacturing, quality engineering and concrete 3d printing. His is also a peer reviewer and track chair at the Industry, Engineering & Management System Conference and Journal.

Professionally, Dr. Turk serves as an Expert Consultant for Tooling U-SME, where he reviews and enhances training content related to additive manufacturing.

He is also an active member of several professional organizations, including the American Association of University Professors and the Society of Manufacturing Engineers.

Dr. Turk develops and promotes certification programs in additive manufacturing and quality engineering while teaching a variety of undergraduate and graduate engineering courses related to Facility Planning, Safety Engineering, Additive Manufacturing & 3D Printing, Quality engineering, and Project Engineering Management.
