What inspired you to work in Higher Education?
-
-
My husband and I were owners of Jordan’s Family Restaurant and in 2008, we unfortunately had to close due to the declining economy. A frequent customer that was a Kent State employee would come in her uniform and talked about the benefits of working at Kent State and how much she enjoyed working there.
-
-
What motivates you/what gets you out of bed in the morning?
-
My day at Kent State starts very early, at 4:00 am. I’m one of the first people on campus getting the building ready to welcome students and faculty/staff to a safe and clean environment.
-
-
Why do you like working at Kent State University (and in CAE)?
-
I have been with the college for about 10 years, starting off in Van Duesen and then coming over to the Aeronautics and Engineering building when the college moved. I have made many friendships along the way here in CAE.
-
-
What is your favorite part of your job?
-
I enjoy seeing the students and faculty/staff arriving at campus with the daylight.
-
-
What are you most looking forward to seeing in the future of CAE?
-
I’m excited to see the college grow, welcoming many new students, faculty and staff with the new addition to the building.
-
-
What is a fun fact about yourself?
-
On any given weekend, you might find me at Mountaineer Park enjoying time with my friends and family.
-
-
What is your biggest accomplishment to date?
-
My two children are my greatest joy. My son, Andrew, is 34 years old and is a professional photographer. He recently won an award for Best Photographer of Cleveland. My daughter, Hannah, is 23 years old and a recent Kent State graduate with an Applied Conflict Management degree.
