    Biography

Kelly Trosper joins the College of Aeronautics and Engineering's Air Traffic Control program after a decade of experience in air traffic control, serving as both a military and civilian controller. Most recently, she was a Certified Professional Controller with the Federal Aviation Administration in Memphis, Tennessee, where she provided radar control for aircraft arriving at and departing Memphis International Airport and transitioning through its airspace. She also trained developing controllers and served as a TEAM (NATCA) Facility Cadre member, preparing colleagues to use the facility's training and automation tools.

Before joining the FAA, Trosper served in the United States Air Force as an air traffic controller from 2012 to 2018. She controlled traffic at Eglin Air Force Base in Florida, one of the busiest bases in the Air Force, and supported operations at Ali Al Salem Air Base in Kuwait, a major aircraft hub in the Middle East. As a certified trainer at Eglin, she helped 15 controllers earn their tower certifications.
