Laura Bartolo, Professor and Director of the Center for Materials Informatics at Kent State University, was recently named by the National Research Council to be a member of the National Academies of Sciences Board on Research Data and Information (BRDI).
The mission of BRDI is to improve the stewardship, policy, and use of digital data and information for science and the broader society. The twenty person Board members represent recognized faculty in the fields of physical and life sciences, computer, information, and library sciences, medicine, and engineering.
Her two year term began at the 7th Annual Board Meeting, August 27-28, 2012 in Washington DC. In addition, Bartolo will also represent the US CODATA and the US scientific community as the U.S. National Delegate to the International Council for Science CODATA beginning January 2013.
